Jump on a plane and in just 4 ½ hours you can be in the sunshine, strolling along the promenade or heading for one of the many soft, sandy beaches which are scattered around this Island. Unlike Tenerife the beaches in Gran Canaria are not volcanic, black sand, and if you take a drive to the magnificent, towering sand dunes you might even stumble over the likes of Kerry MacFadden and her family. The only place to be warrey of may be Playa Del Ingles. Only come here if you want to dance till dawn and maybe share the bar with the likes of Jordan.
Eating Out
One thing you will find no matter where you are in the Canaries are Tapas bars, and Gran Canaria is no different you will be offered these tiny treats almost everywhere on the Island, the most famous been here is a wrinkley potatoe served with a with a delightful sauce. The variety of fish and seafood on offer is amazing and can be sampled at many restaurants, cooked in a variety of ways. There are of course many European style cafe bars and restaurants where you can eat al fresco while watching the people go about their business, while sipping on a cool beer. Prices are very reasonable here and you will pay approximatley the same as you would at home for an excellent freshly cooked meal.

Aquasur a waterpark offering over 33 slides, and 13 different water attractions is a must for all the family with such things as Congo River, twister and the Kamikaze no matter what age you are there is something for you.
If roller coaster rides and the fun of the fair is more along the line of what excites you then look no further than holiday world, while dad and the kids ride the ferris wheel or shoot out in lazer dome, mum can relax in the health spa.
