Kefalonia

When you first visit Kefalonia you may be a little confused as to what part of the world you are in. It’s home to a national park so wild osprey and golden eagles are just a few of the protected species you might spot. Hiring a car is advised if you want to make the most of your trip on this Island as most ofthe villages are quite remote but if this doesn’t appeal to you then the local bus can get you to almost any point.

Of course you must take time out to visit one of the most famous beaches here made famous by the film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin where you might even spotthe odd Dolphin or a logger head turtle making a splash.

Kefalonia is truly charming with magnificent beaches, beautiful scenery and lots of history so if you\'re looking for a relaxing holiday with unspoilt traditional Greek charm then look no further.

Eating Out

Eating out in Greece is a big social experience and it is usual to see huge table filled with families and friends enjoying an endless meal of starters and main courses. Local tavernas are a good choice when eating out and offer local, value for money food such as stuffed vine leaves, spicey meat balls, fresh salads

topped with cheese or moussaka.

Places of Interest

For the adventuras visit the caves of Drongarati and marvel at the stalactites and stalagmites, the accoustics are amazing and many famous people have sung here. A great way of seeing the island and relaxing at the same time is by a boat trip, there are many on offer and usually include stopping for lunch at one of the many pretty ports of call.
