With its breathtaking beauty and wonderful blend of cultures this island has a great mix of historic sites, architecture and amazing cuisine, not to mention the huge selection of wines. The facilities offered on the local beaches are something else and include sunbeds, changing rooms, toilets and shower facilites, making the sunworshippers life much easier. There is however a local entry charge made at most Italian beaches. Nightlife is pretty low key and mainly centres around the bars in the resorts, so if it’s the highlife your looking for then maybe this is not for you, on the other hand the shopping here more than makes up for its lack of nightclubs, with chic cosmopolitan shops lining the stylish streets making it a great choice for a romantic break or even a honeymoon.

Eating Out

The home of antipasta, mouth watering fresh pasta, and huge Pizza of all varieties, eating out here is a real family affair, meals can last for hours while working through the many courses of a typical Sicilian meal. Tuna and swordfish are the speciality in this part of the world served up with a variety of sauces or served plain with the best olive oil.

Places to Visit

Visit a real live active volcanoe at Mount Etna, still giving off the odd rumble just to remind you it is still alive.
